Is the Motorcraft sp546 a one piece plug?
They are a one piece plug but they have a long tip on it that gets carbon build up around it and that can cause the tip to break off and drop into the cylinder. If that happens you will have to pull the head to remove the rest of the plug. Change the plugs every 50k.

Do not use SP515 spark plugs! Just had to do spark plugs last night on my 07 EL… not happy! The fact that it took about 45 minutes isn’t what bothered me. I just put plugs in it around Christmas 2017 (didn’t break any). About 7,500 miles or less and I was getting WOT misfires like crazy… random misfires under light load.

What I didn’t like was changing my spark plugs in the first place, but these were a great OEM fit for my 2006 Ford F-150 5.4L V8 Triton. I did not have to gap these plugs (they are pre-gapped). I used anti-seize on the threads so I don’t repeat the pain of replacing these (see photo) .
How do you remove spark plugs without damaging engine?
Spray the old plugs with Sea Foam or PB Blaster overnight. Give a quarter turn and spray them down again. Some people recommend a cold engine, but if I did this again it would be with the engine warm. You will need a couple 1/2″ extensions and probably two universals. Use a torque wrench to remove the old ones.
