Is there a problem with LPG gas?
Due to the ever increasing cost of LPG and the unsuitability of most modern petrol engines from around 2006 onwards most now suffer from severe exhaust valve and valve seat recession when converted to run on LPG.
Can LPG cars explode?
It IS IMPOSSIBLE. It vents in a second, a flash of flame, for one second. NO BANG, NO EXPLOSION. I HAVE SEEN A DEMONSTRATION OF AN LPG CAR BEING DELIBERATELY SET ON FIRE.
Is LPG safe for cars?
Yes, Auto LPG is also good for your car’s engine. Being a cleaner-burning fuel that produces little residue, LPG doesn’t damage the engine. Rather it allows engine’s components to last longer. Being a high octane fuel, it also ignites faster implying no pre-ignition or knocking.

What happens if the LPG switch fuse is blown?
If the lpg switch fuse was blown it wouldn’t run on gas either so it can’t be that. But if you really can’t find one I’d add one for safety – 7.5 amps is the correct rating. If it’s wired correctedly when you switch to petrol this should energise a relay. The lpg switch shouldn’t directly power your fuel pump.
Why does my LPG changeover valve go to lockout?
Sometimes when turning on quickly, you will get a burst of high-pressure gas through, this can damage the changeover valve the OPSO will also go to lockout. It’s the most common problem we find when called out to LPG changeover valve problems. So when changing your gas bottles over always open the gas valve slowly.
How do I know if my LPG engine is working properly?
Check that the 0 sensor is cycling with the engine on and at idle Check the LPG stepper motor count (normally 150 to 175 at idle and similar at 1,500 RPM). The 0 should remain cycling while the 2 engine is at idle.
Why won’t the converter heat up?
The coolant needs to to warm in the motor and warm the converter for it to work properly. If the converter is cold/frozen to the touch then the coolant is not warming the converter.
