Lytham Club Day and Rose Queen Festival was founded in 1894 and it’s the biggest carnival of the year here on the Fylde Coast! It had only previously been cancelled for the first and second world wars. But sadly Lytham Club Day didn’t go ahead in 2020 or 2021 either because of the Covid pandemic.

The beach itself at St Annes is a huge expanse of golden sand. The sort that is perfect for running around on and building sandcastles. It’s also a great spot for a paddle, however there are no lifeguards on duty and swimming isn’t recommended towards the estuary.

We are licensed for civil ceremonies and wedding ceremonies in both the Georgian Hall and our newly refurbished West Wing. Both are full of charm, character and steeped in history. Our maximum capacities are 70 guests for a ceremony in the Gold Room with 90 guests in the West Wing.

Which is posher Lytham or Lytham St Annes?
St Anne’s is nice but town centre a bit run down, Lytham is much more upmarket with nice bars and cafes and nice shops. Less touristy too and has lovely parks and all the amenities without the arcades. St Anne’s front can get packed in summer whereas Lytham whilst busy is nice.

What happens at the Lytham Rose Festival?
Of course the highlight is Lytham Rose Queen and her retinue, plus visiting Queens from the Fylde. It’s a day for everyone – from Punch & Judy shows throughout the day to Morris Dancers and performers all over town. The main procession is led by vintage cars, followed by the Rose Queen.
