Is Pet Society still playable?
On June 14th Pet Society will be retiring on Facebook which means the game will no longer be available for play. Why is Pet Society being retired? We had to make the difficult decision to close down Pet Society so we can reallocate development resources to other titles that we hope you’ll have just as much fun playing.
Why did EA shut down Pet Society?
Pet Society was a Facebook game played by hundreds of thousands of people. Users raised pets and interacted with other virtual pet owners. Launched in 2008, Electronic Arts shut it down in June, explaining that it was being retired, so EA could “reallocate development resources to other titles.”

Why is Playfish closed?
Each posting says EA is shutting down the game in question so it can “reallocate development resources” to other titles. As for in-game currency and Playfish cash cards, EA is telling players to spend them before the games are retired.
Can you still play Happy pets?
We made a difficult decision to close the game. We hope that you will remember your pets with warmth and keep close with friends that you met in the game. From today, June 9, payments to the game are no longer accepted. June 23 the game will be closed.
Can I still play Restaurant City?
Restaurant City has closed down as of June 29, 2012. However, there is a relaunch by fans of the game called Restaurant City 2016 but doesn’t have the new features quite yet, and a remake Food Friends that is similar to the old game.
Is pet Paradise the same as Pet Society?
Pet Paradise is a mobile game similar to Pet Society which was developed by Playfish and was one of the most popular Facebook games before it shut down in June 2013. Pet Society was launched on August 8, 2008 and became one of the most widely played games along with Restaurant City and Farmville.
What happen to Playfish?
On June 14, 2013, all of the Playfish-developed games have been retired while Madden NFL 13 Social was retired on September 2, 2013 and can no longer be played on Facebook. The last 3 games to be retired (Pet Society, The Sims Social, and SimCity Social) were retired on June 17, 2013.
