How long does it take Osmo oil to dry?
Polyx®-Oils and all other Osmo products have a curing time of approx. 10-14 days. During this time, we advise to keep floor traffic as low as possible and avoid covering the wood’s surface (e.g. with a rug or mat) which can block the circulation of air and the curing of the finish – potentially causing discolouration.
Can you apply Osmo with a rag?
Cloth Application Apply thinly with a clean lint-free cloth onto a clean, dry and smooth surface. Work it in slight circular motions along the grain. Once you’ve wiped on a thin layer, use a dry cloth and wipe off in the direction of the grain to avoid streaks.

How do you apply a second coat of Osmo?
For the second coat, apply Osmo Polyx using the same method as the first coat, EXCEPT you will NOT use sanding dust for Walnut, and You will only Use a White Scotch Brite Pad. Do not use a Red Pad for the Second Coat!
Can you sand off Osmo oil?
Sand your piece up to 220 grit, making sure to raise the grain at 180. Add a thin coat of Polyx Oil with a cotton rag. Use some wet/dry sandpaper at 220 or 320 grit, and sand the Osmo into the wood.
How many coats of Osmo oil should I use?

OSMO Hardwax Oil requires two coats. The second coat should be applied after the first coat is thoroughly dry. Most people wait until the next day.
How do you apply Osmo stain to wood?
Osmo Natural Oil woodstain should be applied with an Osmo Flat Brush, microfibre roller or any appropiate brush. It should be applied thinly along the grain and spread well. In normal climatic conditions allow to dry for approximately 4 – 6 hours with good ventilation before applying a second coat.
How do you remove dried Osmo oil?
We find that the best way of cleaning your hands is to first use vegetable oil which will quicky remove the oil from your skin. Removing the vegetable oil can be done with ordinary dish soap. Alternatively, we recommend rinsing with warm water and soap or for minor cleaning, use Osmo ‘Easy Clean’ hand cleansing wipes.
Is one coat of Osmo door Oil enough?
For roller or brush applications; a maximum of two coats is recommended. Our finishes are designed to penetrate into the wood, application of a third coat is unlikely to absorb.
Can you put Osmo polyx over stain?
Osmo products provide best results when applied directly onto natural wood. Applying directly over other oil-based finishes is not recommended since the surface may not be able to absorb as much of the oil as expected, or applying directly over older microporous finishes may provide inconsistent results.
Can you recoat Osmo oil?
Repairing Scratches This is not a problem because Osmo Polyx®-Oils can be applied layer upon layer over the years, which is a huge advantage over varnishes; which need to be sanded and re-applied during renovation and repairs.
