What are Texsolv heddles?
Texsolv heddles are lightweight, quiet, and come in a variety of lengths to fit most table and floor looms. Texsolv System heddles are made in joined 100-heddle bundles. The strong, durable polyester is crocheted without knots. Heddles slide easily on harnesses, and do not stretch.
Should you cut Texsolv heddles?
Heddles can and often do go outside of the jack cords that hang the upper harness sticks. Once the heddles are in place, you can cut them apart – or not. Probably you will want to eventually, especially if they are to work widely spaced. And they do slide a little easier.
What are heddles used for?
A heddle is an integral part of a loom. Each thread in the warp passes through a heddle, which is used to separate the warp threads for the passage of the weft. The typical heddle is made of cord or wire and is suspended on a shaft of a loom. Each heddle has an eye in the center where the warp is threaded through.

How do you tie up Texsolv?
Texsolv cord set up to be a treadle tie. To attach tie-up cords to the eye hooks, you can use the arrow pegs (at the top of the photo shown at left), looping the cord through the eye-hook and inserting the peg into two loops to secure the connection.
How do you put heddles on a loom?
To add more heddles, just un-loop the Texsolv cord from the screw heads in the heddle frames. Tip the loom onto its back & slide the heddle frame out the bottom of the castle. Pull one wooden end off the heddle frame, add more heddles & reverse the process.
How do you use Texsolv?
Fixed attachment to warp or cloth beam
- Count the holes in the beams. Cut the right amount of cord in the EXACT same length.
- Create a running loop around the beam, use beam cord 1/20.
- Run the beam cord through the hole in the beam.
- Tighten it.
How do I use Texsolv anchors?
The pegs are used to lock the polyester loop cord in place. To do so the cord is attached to the “hook” on the side of the peg, then the peg is secured in the hole by the use of the two “legs”. The length of the cord is then easily adjusted by moving the peg up or down on the cord.
How do you store extra heddles?
Unless you are really weaving something as wide as the width of your loom, the unused heddles can remain in place on each side of the warp. I usually loop a loose cord around them on each side of the castle to keep them from sliding toward the warp and rubbing against it.
